Subasic To Lead The Masonry Society as 1st Female President

Ms. Christine A. Subasic, consulting architectural engineer in Raleigh, North Carolina became President of The Masonry Society (TMS) following the Society’s November 2019 meetings in Scottsdale, Arizona. Subasic, who has been a Member of TMS for over 25 years, and who has served in numerous leadership roles including Vice President, Secretary/Treasurer, Board Member, Chair of the Sustainability Committee, and Editor of the Society’s Sustainability E-Newsletter, was introduced by TMS Past-President, Darrell McMillian during the Awards Luncheon of the Society as the Society’s first female President. McMillian thanked Subasic for her tremendous leadership and support to date. He noted that the Society will be facing some challenges in the coming year, and was pleased to turn over the Presidency to Subasic due to her knowledge, expertise, and vision. Subasic will serve as President of TMS until the fall of 2021.

Christine “Tina” A. Subasic, P.E., LEED A.P. specializes in masonry and sustainable design.  Subasic has provided technical support services, including standards development, educational seminars, and inspection services in the masonry industry for over 25 years. She is a frequent speaker on sustainability and masonry, and has addressed audiences in over 20 states. Besides her active involvement in The Masonry Society, she also serves on ASTM Committees E60 on Sustainability and C15 on Manufactured Masonry Units, and is a voting member of the ASHRAE Standard 189.1 Project Committee. She has written numerous articles and publications and is editor of The Masonry Society’s Sustainability E-Newsletter. Subasic received her Bachelor of Architectural Engineering Honors degree from the Pennsylvania State University. She is a LEED® Accredited Professional and a registered professional engineer in Virginia and North Carolina. 

The Masonry Society (TMS) is an educational, scientific, and technical society dedicated to the advancement of scientific, engineering, architectural, and construction knowledge of masonry. The Society is a not-for-profit, membership driven organization that gathers, correlates, and disseminates information for the improvement of the design, construction, manufacture, use, and maintenance of masonry products and structures. As part of these efforts, TMS develops standards, guides, and other resources, educates through seminars, workshops, conferences, and collaborates with the construction industry, design profession and other leaders desiring to see a better and more resilient built environment.
