Wärtsilä appoints Sushil Purohit as Energy Business Vice President for Area Americas

The technology group Wärtsilä announces the appointment of Sushil Purohit as Vice President for Area Americas within the company’s Energy Business. The appointment takes effect from 1 January, 2020. He will be based in Houston, Texas

Mr Purohit joined Wärtsilä in 1998 and has served in various management level positions in different countries in Asia and Europe. Most recently he has served as Vice President for the company’s Energy Business in the Middle East, Asia and Australia. He has played a leading role in successfully developing a sustainable business for Wärtsilä in that region, which has become an increasingly important market for the company’s power generating solutions and services.

In his new position, Mr Purohit will be focused on leading Wärtsilä’s growth in the North and South American markets, with particular attention to the industry’s increasing use of energy from renewable sources, notably wind and solar.
