Asia-Pacific Solar technology tenders activity drops 14% in July 2019

Asia-Pacific solar technology tenders in July 2019 saw 83 tenders announced, marking a drop of 14% over the last 12-month average of 96, according to GlobalData’s power industry tenders database.

The proportion of solar technology tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:

  1. Project Implementation with 71 tenders and an 85.5% share
  2. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: five tenders and a 6% share
  3. Supply & Erection: five tenders and a 6% share
  4. Consulting & Similar Services: two tenders and a 2.4% share.

India tops Asia-Pacific solar power tenders activity

India was the top country in the Asia-Pacific region for solar technology tenders recorded in July 2019 with 60 tenders and a 72.3% share, followed by Australia with ten tenders and a 12% share and the Philippines with five tenders and a 6% share.

The top issuers of tenders for the month in terms of power capacity involved in Asia-Pacific were:

  1. Paschim Gujarat Vij (India): 600MW from one tender
  2. Adani Electricity Mumbai (India): 350MW from one tender
  3. Mahagenco (India): 137MW capacity from one tender
