Stantec’s Water Practice Welcomes Four New Experts in the US Northeast

Boston, MA – NYSE, TSX: STN: Stantec is pleased to welcome four new experts to its growing water practice in the US Northeast. The strategic hires bring over 75 years combined experience in water/wastewater/stormwater engineering, wet weather programs, hydraulic modeling, whole plant process modeling, and combined sewer overflow (CSO) storage.

New hires include:

 

  • Prabhu Chandrasekeran, PE – Chandrasekeran brings extensive experience in the field of water and wastewater engineering to his role as Senior Principal in the Intelligent Water Solutions and Platforms group in Stantec’s Laurel, MD office. In this position, he is responsible for business development and leading the delivery of strategic projects in the region. He has over 14 years of experience, with projects ranging from sanitary sewer master planning to managing highly visible buried infrastructure programs. Chandrasekeran holds a bachelor of science in civil engineering from the College of Engineering, Guindy – Anna University, and a master of science in environmental engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology.

 

  • Yuan Fang, Ph.D., PE – Fang joins Stantec’s Plymouth Meeting, PA office as a Senior Process Engineer, bringing over 17 years of experience in water and wastewater systems, with special expertise in physical, chemical, and biological process evaluations of wastewater treatment systems and CSO long-term control plans. She has also authored numerous papers and presentations on innovative industry technologies for nutrient removal, anaerobic digestion, and endocrine disruption. Fang holds a bachelor of science in environmental engineering from Tsinghua University, a master of science in environmental geography from Beijing University, and a Ph.D. in civil engineering from the University of Minnesota.

 

  • Lin Liang, PE – As Principal, Wet Weather Technical Lead in Stantec’s Burlington, MA office, Liang leads and supports development and implementation of wet weather and wastewater projects in the Northeast. He has in-depth technical expertise in wet weather issues, complex hydraulics, modeling, and physical/chemical treatment processes. Liang brings over 20 years of experience leading nationally-recognized projects that serve to benefit local communities. He holds a bachelor of science in environmental engineering from Nanjing University, and a master of science in environmental engineering from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

 

  • Philip Pedros, Ph.D., P.E., BCEE – Pedros joins the Burlington, MA office as a Senior Process Engineer. With over 25 years of experience, he has a special focus on the design and operation of biological wastewater treatment plants. Pedros holds eight patents and has authored numerous publications on technologies for nutrient removal and the thermal oxidation of nitrous oxide. He holds a bachelor of science in mechanical engineering from the University of Lowell and a master of science in environmental engineering and a Ph.D. in engineering from Northeastern University.
