HNTB’s Craig Denson Named CFO of the Year by EFCG

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Craig Denson, CPA, CFO HNTB Corporation, was named CFO of the Year by the Environmental Financial Consulting Group (EFCG) during its 19th annual CFO conference in New York City on May 9.

Denson, a senior vice president, has been with HNTB for 18 years in various roles, including corporate controller, corporate treasurer and corporate secretary. Appointed as CFO in 2018, he oversees approximately 60 professionals who support the corporate financial operation.

EFCG’s CFO conference began in 2001 and delves into issues pertinent to a Chief Financial Officer. A highlight of the conference is the announcement of CFO of The Year. 

According to Rebecca Zofnass, EFCG managing partner, “HNTB’s continued strong performance across multiple key metrics, such as organic growth, profitability, and working capital, make HNTB one of the strongest players in the A/E/C industry. Denson’s role as chief financial officer is a critical driver of this success.”

Former HNTB CFO, Terry Campbell, CPA, also was named CFO of the Year by EFCG in 2011.

Denson is active in several professional organizations including Employee-Owned S-Corporations of America serving as Director and Policy committee member; U.S. Chamber of Commerce member of the Tax committee; and Financial Executives Institute, Kansas City, Mo., chapter. 

He earned a Bachelor of Science in accounting from Kansas State University and Master of Business Administration from Rockhurst University’s executive program.
