HNTB Hires Public Involvement and Communications Professionals in Tampa

TAMPA, Fla. – HNTB Corporation added two communications professionals to its growing public involvement practice. Andy Fobes and Darcy Foster, MPA, joined the firm’s Tampa office as public involvement managers.

“Both Andy and Darcy bring great passion and enthusiasm for their work. They are talented communicators who can tell stories visually and clearly present information that resonates with our clients, government officials, civic leaders and the audiences they serve,” said HNTB’s Bill Jones, PE, associate vice president and deputy office leader in Tampa.

Andy Fobes is leading a unit focused on creative document production, technical writing and graphic design.

Prior to HNTB, he worked as director of public relations and events for the Tampa Port Authority; served as chief of protocol for the Board of Commissioners of the Port of New Orleans; worked as public information and communications officer for the Mississippi State Port Authority; and served in other positions of management on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

Fobes earned a Master’s in public relations and a Bachelor of Science in journalism from the University of Southern Mississippi. He participated in the prestigious Leadership Gulf Coast program of the Mississippi Gulf Coast Chamber of Commerce to prepare future leaders.

He brings much transportation industry association experience to HNTB, including the American Association of Port Authorities; Inland Rivers, Ports and Terminals Association; and Mississippi Water Resources Association; among others.

Darcy Foster, MPA, has a diverse background in government relations and planning, which will allow her to assist our clients in effective public involvement, stakeholder engagement and project planning.

Foster formerly served as a planning production manager and director of communications for Prime Medical, LLC, in Largo, Florida; director of strategic enterprise for Florida’s Pasco County Clerk and Comptroller’s Office; director of government relations for the Tampa International Airport; and manager of intergovernmental affairs for Hillsborough County Office of Public Affairs.

She earned a Master of Public Administration from Florida State University and a Bachelor of Science in urban planning from Pennsylvania State University, University Park.

Foster is a certified supervisory manager from Florida State University. She is a member of the Leadership Tampa Alumni program of the Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce and served as a member of Tampa Connection’s Alumni Advisory Committee.
