KANSAS CITY, Mo. – A new HNTB Corporation Viewpoint discusses technology tools that innovative transit agencies have begun to embrace to deliver safe, cost-effective services and improved rider equity to communities they serve. The Viewpoint, “Transit’s e-commerce revolution can advance mobility for all riders,” is authored by Kimberly Slaughter, HNTB national transit and rail market sector leader and senior vice president.

Slaughter also discusses the rise of microtransit, which includes the electric scooter. “By proactively engaging with e-scooter rental companies, agencies can find ways to enhance their facilities to safely accommodate scooters by providing incentives for the orderly use and storage of scooters around busy transit hubs,” Slaughter said.
