RALEIGH, N.C. – Stewart, an interdisciplinary design, engineering and planning firm, is showcasing the latest transportation innovations at the largest transportation event in North Carolina, the ACEC/NC NCDOT Joint Transportation Conference. Held Dec. 19 – Dec. 20 at the Raleigh Convention Center, this annual conference is hosted by the American Council of Engineering Companies of North Carolina (ACEC/NC) and the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT), bringing together organization members and industry leaders from across the state to feature the cutting-edge advancements and projects in transportation.

During the conference, Stewart’s vice president and transportation practice leader, Doug Taylor, is moderating sessions surrounding the theme of project delivery on Dec. 20, where NCDOT and industry professionals will share success stories and highlight the innovative methods that efficiently deliver on clients’ needs. Session topics include bridge program delivery, state of the divisions and project delivery after the bid.

Conference attendees can also visit booth 12 to learn more about Stewart, the firm’s transportation practice area and the services provided to NCDOT, including transportation, geomatics and geotechnical investigations.

“As the transportation industry progresses, it’s important for there to be avenues where industry leaders and peers can network, share best practices and learn from each other to encourage forward-thinking,” said Taylor. “Sponsoring the ACEC/NC NCDOT Joint Transportation Conference is one element of our dedication to providing and supporting opportunities for transportation and engineering professionals from across the state to join together and drive innovations.”

Stewart has sponsored the annual ACEC/NC NCDOT Joint Transportation Conference for more than four years, maintaining a strong presence and serving key roles on the conference committees. Taylor and Andrew Young, manager of transportation design at Stewart, are on the event’s planning committee, and Young served as a subcommittee chair in 2017. Taylor also chairs the project delivery subcommittee, has served as the NCDOT Conference co-chair in 2013 and 2014, as well as the Private Engineering Firm (PEF) Conference co-chair in 2015 and 2016.
