HNTB’s Growing Aviation Practice Adds New Hires; Provides Innovative Airside and Landside Solutions to Airports throughout the U.S.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – HNTB Corporation, a national infrastructure solutions firm celebrating more than a century of service to clients, continues growing its aviation practice to help meet transportation demands, improve mobility and enhance economic competitiveness of airports across the nation. The firm welcomes Vivek Khanna to its Dallas office and Sara Henderson to Chicago. Robert McFadden makes an office move from HNTB’s San Diego office to Denver.

Vivek Khanna, Ph.D., PE, M.ASCE, senior project manager – engineering, has a proven record of serving on complex airport projects throughout the central U.S., and more than 15 years of experience in airport engineering, planning and programming. At HNTB, he will work on projects at Dallas Love Field, Denver International Airport, Houston Airport System, and more. Prior to joining HNTB, Khanna served as a senior project manager – aviation design for another consulting firm. 

Khanna earned a Ph.D. and Master of Science in civil engineering from the University of Oklahoma, and a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from the Thapar Institute of Engineering in Patiala, India.  

Sara Henderson, PE, returns to HNTB as an aviation project manager – engineer supporting the Denver International Airport Concourse A West Expansion and Dallas Love Field Runway 13R-31L Reconstruction projects. She has 15 years of experience, including project management, design, planning and project construction. Henderson has served on a variety of complex airport projects throughout the U.S., including Kansas City International Airport, Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, Dallas Love Field and Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport. Henderson previously worked at HNTB as a civil engineer, focused on aviation and construction services.

Henderson earned a Bachelor of Science in engineering from the University of Missouri.

Robert McFadden, PE, senior project manager – engineering has 12 years of diverse transportation design experience that includes serving as drainage and grading task lead for the Los Angeles International Airport Runway 25R-7L Extension project. At HNTB, he will serve on the Denver International Airport Concourse Expansion Project. 

McFadden earned a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from Northern Arizona University.
