MGT Consulting Group expands its Financial Solutions Group and Florida consulting team with new hire Leon Corbett in Tallahassee
TALLAHASSEE, FL – Leon Corbett has joined MGT Consulting Group as a Director within its Financial Solutions Group focused on expanding MGT’s reach and client impact in the Florida market. He brings nearly two decades of experience in the government, transportation, and tourism industries. His role at MGT is to provide trusted analysis and advice to government organizations as they pursue innovative financial and funding solutions, including cost allocation plans, user fee studies, public private partnerships (P3s), and infrastructure finance.
His most recent role as Project Finance Manager with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) allowed him to develop and implement innovative finance and project delivery mechanisms, including public-private partnerships, bonds, tolls, and FDOT’s State Infrastructure Bank loans. Corbett’s expertise in public funding, finance, and marketing has yielded many successful projects throughout the state. While with FDOT he helped lead a $7 billion P3 program that advanced 16 transportation projects, including the nationally-recognized I-595 Corridor Improvements P3 concession agreement and the I-395 Design-Build-Finance project.
Corbett holds a Master of Business Administration from Florida State University’s College of Business and a Bachelor of Arts from Wake Forest University. He is also a Certified Project Management Professional with the Project Management Institute and was a member of the Transportation Research Board’s National Cooperative Highway Research Program Panel on “Leveraging Private Capital for Infrastructure Renewal.” He recently presented on methods for governments to capture the value of infrastructure improvements at the Federal Highway Administration’s (FHWA) “Every Day Counts” Initiative and is a member of FHWA’s Stakeholder Group on Alternative Contracting Methods.
