NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A commitment to serving clients and improving regional mobility led to HNTB Corporation’s official opening of a new permanent office space located at 725 Cool Springs Boulevard in Franklin, Tennessee.

Robbie Hayes, AICP, ENV SP, joined the firm as a project manager and practice builder for the environmental planning group and will be based in the firm’s recently opened office. Hayes is responsible for a range of high-profile and complex planning projects, ensuring timely delivery and client satisfaction.

“A permanent office in Tennessee positions us closer to clients and will facilitate collaborative efforts across the region to fight congestion and offer integrated transportation options,” said Charlie Herndon, PE, HNTB Southeast Division president. “We’re eager to grow in the region and contribute to its continued prosperity.”

Currently, HNTB’s southeastern presence includes multiple offices in Florida, Georgia, Alabama and Tennessee and provides employment for approximately 675 professionals.

Hayes has more than 13 years of experience in transportation, environmental, transit and land use planning. He has provided advisory and technical services for various state, local and regional agencies across Tennessee and Georgia. He also has provided services to Federal transportation and resource agencies throughout the south.

“Robbie is a highly skilled planner and project manager with a strong technical background,” said Charlotte Weber, HNTB department manager – environmental planning in Atlanta. “His prior experience with numerous projects in Tennessee position him as a valuable resource to all transportation clients in the region. He is someone who is known and trusted.”

Prior to joining HNTB, Hayes served as a project manager for another consulting firm.

Hayes earned advanced degrees in community and regional planning and public administration and policy, along with a bachelor’s degree from Auburn University. He is active in professional and civic organizations, including serving as an executive committee and board member of Cumberland Region Tomorrow in Nashville, an at-large board member for the National Association of Environmental Professionals, and a member of the American Planning Association. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners and a certified Envision Sustainability Professional.

In Nashville, HNTB plans to expand its workforce of professionals in the coming years as large transportation projects begin to take shape in the region. The firm will provide solutions on some of the most complex transportation infrastructure projects and programs, including highways, transit/rail, and aviation.
