South Burlington, VT, NYSE, TSX: STN- Amidst continued growth in the New England region, Stantec’s Transportation practice has welcomed a strategic hire to its South Burlington, Vermont office. Amanda Ludlow has joined as a principal focused on guiding the development of the Transportation practice’s local stormwater planning and design group. In this role she will provide technical management for current and future projects, while also supporting cross-collaboration between Stantec practice areas.

“Amanda’s wealth of experience and cross-industry knowledge make her a key addition to our team,” said Greg Edwards, senior principal in Transportation at Stantec. “Not only will she provide a strong focus on the growth of our local stormwater group, but she’ll also serve as a valuable leader within our team and the projects on which she works.”

Prior to joining Stantec Ludlow served as the practice leader of the Engineered Natural Systems practice at a leading environmental consulting firm. In this role she oversaw the development and implementation of passive natural treatment technologies for projects across the globe. In the rapidly evolving and expanding markets of water quality services and green infrastructure, Ludlow has developed extensive, diverse market experience. She has guided projects such as the design of large-scale natural wastewater treatment facilities, the beneficial reuse of municipal and industrial landfills, and the greening of industrial facilities for sustainable stormwater management.

Ludlow has nearly 25 years of experience in engineered natural systems, low impact development, and ecological services, primarily in senior leadership and advisory roles. She received her bachelor of science degree in bio-engineering from Syracuse University, master of arts in marine biology from Boston University, and master of science in civil and environmental engineering from Utah State University. Ludlow currently serves on the Technical Advisory Board for the Pure Earth/Blacksmith Institute and serves on the Editorial Board for the International Journal of Phytoremediation.
