Transportation Expert Jennifer Carrier Joins HNTB as Connecticut Office Leader

Rocky Hill, Conn. – Jennifer Carrier, PE, joined HNTB Corporation as Connecticut office leader and associate vice president. With 25 years of transportation engineering experience, Carrier oversees HNTB’s operations throughout the state from the firm’s Rocky Hill office.

 

 “Jennifer’s technical knowledge and insights, combined with many years of experience working with state transportation agencies and officials, will help HNTB deliver thoughtful, innovative solutions for Connecticut’s pressing mobility challenges,” said Phil Brake, PE, HNTB Northeast Division president.

 

Before joining HNTB, Carrier served as director of transportation planning for the Capitol Region Council of Governments in Hartford. In that role she worked extensively with the Connecticut Department of Transportation as well as municipalities, federal officials, and transit agencies to develop solutions for complex transportation projects, including funding and financing. Previously, Carrier was CRCOG’s principal transportation engineer.

 

A professional engineer in Connecticut, she is a graduate of the University of Rhode Island with a bachelor’s in civil engineering.

Carrier is a member of the Women’s Transportation Seminar, including serving as a member of the Connecticut advisory council and peer mentor. She is a member of the Intelligent Transportation Society of Connecticut and Institute of Transportation Engineers, where she previously served as Connecticut chapter president.

Carrier serves on the University of Hartford civil engineering advisory board and was a member of the Connecticut technology transfer center advisory committee. Additionally, she is a graduate of Leadership Greater Hartford, a leadership enhancement program.

HNTB currently is designing and implementing major infrastructure projects for the Connecticut Department of Transportation, including program management of the I-84/Rt. 8 Mixmaster Interchange program, the Norwalk rail movable bridge replacement, construction engineering and inspection services for the Moses Wheeler Bridge replacement project, and engineering services for the New Haven-Hartford-Springfield rail corridor along with railroad construction engineering and inspection services.
