Greg Cobb Named Ei Companies New Chief Financial Officer

LAS VEGAS – Greg Cobb, a Senior Executive, Entrepreneur and Business Leader in the Construction Services Industry, has been named the new Chief Financial Officer for Ei Companies (“the companies”).  Greg has a diverse and varied business and educational background and has been involved with high growth, entrepreneurial companies for 20 years.  Greg will begin his new role immediately and will be based out of the companies Phoenix offices.

An undergraduate degree holder in Computer Engineering from Iowa State University, Greg also has a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the W.P. Carey School of Business Administration, and a Juris Doctorate degree from the Sandra Day O’Connor School of Law, both at Arizona State University. Greg will be directly responsible for Finance, Human Resources and Information Technology for the companies; for the tactics and execution of the companies financial strategy, the financial integration and forecasting of its multi-state operating units, and structuring and securing of funding for the companies’ future acquisitions.

Prior to joining the companies, Greg founded Inglenook Financial in Scottsdale, AZ to provide innovative solutions to homeowners seeking to finance home improvement, repair or energy projects via licensed contractors.  Prior to Inglenook, Greg was CFO for US PEACH, an acquirer and operator of Plumbing, Electrical, and HVAC companies.  US PEACH acquired Sonoran Air Inc., an HVAC design and installation company for over 100,000 homes that Greg Cobb, as CEO of Sonoran Air, had successfully turned around after the housing crisis, and was sold to US PEACH in 2014.  Greg led the team that identified, acquired and operated 6 home service companies by US PEACH in 3 states.

While at Sonoran Air, Greg founded iEngineer, to provide mechanical system designs for a variety of above-code programs for builders and contractors in 12 states. iEngineer developed the capability to rapidly provide custom HVAC designs based upon the unique options and solar orientation of each home for production builders.  Ei Engineering, a part of Ei Companies, acquired iEngineer from Greg in 2016.

Greg Cobb is a former President and Board Member of EEBA, the Energy & Environmental Building Alliance, and a past member of the Advanced Energy HVAC Advisory Board.  Greg is also a member of the RESNET (Residential Energy Services Network) HVAC Task Group, developing design and commissioning standards that will be incorporated into the HERS index.  He has also been a speaker at EEBA, RESNET, the Environmental Protection Agency and the Department of Energy on a variety of HVAC and Energy Efficiency topics.

Before entering the Construction Services Industry, Greg was CFO at an Arizona based biotech company where he raised $75 Million in debt and equity financing, including completing an IPO in 2007. He has also been Managing Director of a San Francisco Bay Area based technology mergers & acquisitions firm.  Greg is also a private equity investor and has managed an Angel investor group.
