HNTB Names Phil Collin and Doug Champlin to Northeast Division Management Team

New York  – HNTB Corporation promoted Phil Collin, PE, to the position of Northeast Division Sales Officer, and named Doug Champlin as Northeast Division Program and Construction Management Director. Based in the firm’s New York City office, both Collin and Champlin are HNTB vice presidents.

Collin will lead the firm’s sales and marketing efforts throughout the northeast – accounting for the firm’s largest workforce of nearly 850 professionals in nine offices who serve more than 30 transportation agencies and authorities in eight states.  

 

Champlin, who rejoined the firm, is responsible for coordinating construction management resources in the New York/New Jersey/Connecticut tri-state area, growth of the program management and construction management practice, and growth of the firm’s program controls practice across the region. He also serves as a national program controls consultant for HNTB.

Collin joined HNTB in 2008, serving in a series of increasingly responsible roles including most recently as New York office sales manager. In that role, he was instrumental in achieving record sales of $192 million in 2017, an increase of more than 50 percent from the previous year. Collin also served as New York office operations manager, program management/construction management department leader, and he was HNTB’s principal in charge and project controls manager for the Goethals Bridge replacement project.

Doug Champlin

A registered professional engineer in New York and New Jersey, Collin holds a master’s degree in engineering from the New Jersey Institute of Technology, and a bachelor’s din civil engineering from the University of Massachusetts, Lowell.  He has more than 27 years of industry experience.

 

Champlin initially joined HNTB in 2013, serving in multiple leadership roles for project controls, program and construction management. His prior experience includes program controls lead for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey’s PATH extension to Newark Airport program; construction manager for New York City Transit’s Sea Beach Line station rehabilitation project; and senior project controls manager for the Long Island Rail Road Jamaica Station reconfiguration program.

 

Champlin is a graduate of the Rochester Institute of Technology with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, who has more than 25 years of industry experience.
