San Francisco, CA – Consultants from WSP USA, an engineering and professional services consultancy and leader in the field of connected and automated vehicles, will deliver presentations that will impact the future of transportation at the Automated Vehicle Symposium in San Francisco July 9-12. WSP is a benefactor of the event and the exclusive sponsor of the mobile app for the symposium, which can be downloaded here.

“Connected and automated vehicles (C/AV) have the potential to change all aspects of mobility – from the way we commute, to how we plan and develop infrastructure for future cities and towns. Federal, state and local agencies are increasingly asking whether there are actions that can be taken from a regulatory, legislative or policy viewpoint that would support and/or impact the evolution of C/AV,” says Steve Kuciemba, national intelligent transportation systems practice leader at WSP USA. Mr. Kuciemba will take part in a breakout session on Dedicated Lanes, Work Zones and Shared Data, Wednesday, July 11, 1:30 – 5:00 p.m.

Other WSP C/AV experts presenting at the conference on July 11 include:

  • Rachel Zack, Innovative Mobility Lead

A Call to Action: It’s Time for a Transit Renaissance! Linking Automation, Sharing and Public Transportation to Advance the Public Good
1:30 – 5:00 p.m.

  • Scott Shogan, C/AV Market Leader

Accelerating CAV Market Penetration by Leveraging Infrastructure
1:30 – 3:30 p.m.

WSP currently advises transportation agencies across the U.S. on the development and implementation of infrastructure and policies to proactively plan for these vehicles of the future. The firm is involved in planning, engineering and deployment of connected vehicle systems; advising public agencies on the impact of C/AV on their transportation systems (and how to plan for them); evaluation of scenarios for early deployment; and system requirements for field integration. In addition, WSP is helping clients explore what it means to be a Smart City, and how technology can support their objectives and improve quality of life for citizens.

The firm’s comprehensive C/AV capabilities are presented at www.advancingtransport.com.
