HOUSTON – Angela McMurray, AICP, has rejoined HNTB Corporation as environmental planning manager. McMurray leads efforts to grow the environmental planning practice in HNTB’s Houston office and focuses on service and delivery for major transportation projects throughout southeast Texas and El Paso.

McMurray has 12 years of experience in environmental consulting and natural resources management, including work on numerous biological assessment and ecological evaluation projects. Additionally, she has environmental permitting experience that includes coordination with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

“We’re so pleased Angela has chosen to rejoin the firm,” said Mike Voinis, PE, HNTB Houston office leader and vice president. “Her deep understanding of the environmental process ensures our clients are in full compliance of all necessary environmental regulations, helping advance the timely delivery of their most complex transportation infrastructure projects and programs.”

McMurray’s expertise includes National Environmental Policy Act documentation for Environmental Impact Statements, Environmental Assessments and Categorical Exclusions.

McMurray formerly served as an environmental planner for HNTB in Houston from 2009 to 2014. During this time, she was responsible for coordination and management of environmental projects for proposed roadway and public-sector improvement projects, including a $12 million roadway expansion project in El Paso for the Texas Department of Transportation and a wetland delineation for a 130-mile natural gas pipeline in eastern Texas. Prior to rejoining HNTB, McMurray served as an environmental planner–scientist for another consulting firm.

She earned a Bachelor of Arts in geography/landscape ecology and a minor in biology from the University of Texas at Austin.

HNTB has provided environmental planning services on several major transportation infrastructure projects across the U.S., including the Chelsea Street Moveable Bridge Replacement in Massachusetts, the Dallas Horseshoe Interchange, the Cleveland Opportunity Corridor Project, and the Tres Rios Ecosystem Restoration and Flood Control Project near Phoenix.
