Sulzer Showcases MIXPACT MixCoatT Cartridge-Based 2-Component Dispensing Systems at NACE Corrosion 2018

Sulzer Mixpac USA, Inc., the leading innovator of 2-component adhesive dispensing systems, will showcase its innovative MIXPAC™ MixCoat™ cartridge-based systems at NACE Corrosion 2018, April 15-19, 2018 at the Phoenix Convention Center, in Phoenix, Arizona. On display in Booth 555 will be three members of the MixCoat family – MIXPAC™ MixCoat™ Spray for small volume applications, touch-up and repair; MIXPAC™ MixCoat™ Manual 2-component dispenser for stripe coating and touch-up; and MIXPAC™ MixCoat™ Flex for difficult to access areas.

The MIXPACâ„¢ MixCoatâ„¢ Spray model on display is a portable pneumatic dispense system designed for small volume applications, touch-up, and repairs. Unlike large and expensive plural component spray equipment that is difficult to transport, the MixCoat Spray system is extremely lightweight. This means it is easy and fast to set up, clean up and break down, so users lose very little time for the maintenance cycle. The system works well with challenging to apply 100 percent solid epoxies and fast set polyurethanes and polyureas. It also works well with new abrasion-resistant specialty coatings, including those with glass flake additives.

Also to be exhibited is the MIXPACâ„¢ MixCoatâ„¢ Manual model, which is used for applying high solids epoxies and touchup. MixCoat Manual offers efficient, clean and cost optimized repair work with less waste. Unlike older drill mix systems, MixCoat Manual does not require pre-mixing or metering of components. The cartridge-based system features excellent mixing performance and improved ratio control, without the need for mixing equipment. With this system, components are kept separate until forced through the static mixer; this minimizes waste from unused coating. Users no longer need to worry about pot life. Cartridges are available for 1:1, 2:1, 3:1 and 4:1 ratios, ranging from 1500 milliliter (ML) to 940 mL.

Stop by the booth to see the MixCoatâ„¢ Flex, ideal for coating applications in areas with limited accessibility for standard spray equipment, like tanks and bilges in marine applications. It is also a good choice for stripe coating with a low pressure spray and for a variety of water/wastewater manhole applications. With its robust design, the lightweight and mobile MixCoat Flex can be placed on the ground or mounted on a wall. It offers maximum flexibility to reach into tight and angled spaces. The new dual stage trigger provides one-handed operation and can accommodate a variety of spray applications. Use the 90 degree tip for spraying tight angles and the straight tip for broader areas. MixCoat Flex can adjust to 1:1, 2:1, 3:1 and 4:1 ratios into the same dispenser; simply exchange the plunger disc to change the ratio.
