Dr. Dave Maune Presented with Outstanding Personal Achievement Award in Lidar at the International Lidar Mapping Forum

Dr. Dave Maune, Ph.D., PSM, PS, GS, CP, CFM, was presented with the Outstanding Personal Achievement Award in Lidar at the 2018 International Lidar Mapping Forum (ILMF) in Denver, Colorado. Maune was selected out of nearly 80 nominations.

Maune is an associate vice president and photogrammetrist for Dewberry and is based in the firm’s Fairfax, Virginia, office. He has been in the industry for nearly 60 years and supports federal contracts with the U.S. Geological Survey and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). In addition, Maune serves as the project manager for the firm’s independent quality assurance/quality control contracts with the states of Connecticut and Maine, and Los Angeles County. Currently, using Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar, Maune is working on mapping the entire state of Alaska, which has never before been mapped in accordance with National Map Accuracy Standards.

Maune serves on NOAA’s Hydrographic Services Review Panel and is a member of the American Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ASPRS), Association of State Floodplain Managers, and the Management Association for Private Photogrammetric Surveyors. He earned a Ph.D. (1973) and a master’s (1970) in geodetic science and photogrammetry from The Ohio State University and a bachelor’s in mechanical engineering from the Missouri University of Science and Technology (1961).

In addition to Maune’s individual recognition with the Outstanding Personal Achievement Award, Dewberry came in third place in Outstanding Team Achievement in Lidar at the ILMF.
