WASHINGTON, D.C. — Brandon Kirkham has joined Faegre Baker Daniels Consulting as a senior director on the energy and environment team in Washington, D.C.

Kirkham joins from Four Rivers Consulting, a D.C.-based advocacy firm he founded in 2017 after 15 years as a leader in government affairs at Marathon Oil Corporation.

From 2013 to 2017, Kirkham ran Marathon’s Washington, D.C. office and was the company’s lead advocate to Congress, the executive branch, regulatory agencies and international government representatives. He managed cross-functional teams to align government relations strategies with business priorities and worked to identify, anticipate and adjust for regulatory risks. Kirkham led Marathon’s efforts to lift the 40-year crude oil export ban in the 2015 omnibus appropriation.

U.S. House of Representatives Majority Whip Steve Scalise said, “I congratulate FaegreBD for making a great addition to their team with Brandon Kirkham. Brandon is very hard working, and is incredibly well-respected in the energy and environment space. I look forward to continuing to work with Brandon in his new role.”

At FaegreBD Consulting, Kirkham helps clients advance business goals through advocacy strategies, partnering to develop and implement efforts that impact energy and environmental policy, regulation, and programs.

“Brandon has expertise on a wide range of issues, drawing on his two decades at the intersection of the energy industry and federal decision-makers,” said Dave Zook, chair of FaegreBD Consulting and leader of the firm’s D.C. office. “His addition further strengthens our global energy and environment team as they help clients effectively engage with federal, state and local governments on the issues impacting their business objectives.”

Kirkham earned the certificate in global management from Georgetown University and the ESADE Business School in Spain, as well as a master’s degree in government relations from George Washington University. He received his bachelor’s degree in political science from Murray State University.
