Dane Schneider Joins HNTB in Houston as Project Director

HOUSTON – Dane Schneider, PE, joined HNTB Corporation as project director, based in the firm’s Houston office. Schneider leads the firm’s municipal practice in the region, focusing on projects with the City of Houston, Harris County, and Harris County Flood Control District. His work includes supporting disaster recovery efforts following Hurricane Harvey.

Schneider has more than 25 years of industry experience in Texas, including capital improvement program development and delivery; storm water management; residential, commercial and planning projects; and municipal master plan development.

“Dane has demonstrated his commitment to the Houston region by his longstanding and diverse service in local public works and planning efforts,” said Mike Voinis, PE, HNTB Houston office leader and vice president. “His expertise will help our clients solve the region’s toughest infrastructure challenges, including how to plan and construct resilient infrastructure that can better withstand the challenges posed by natural disasters.”

Prior to joining HNTB, Schneider served as managing engineer for the City of Houston’s Public Works and Engineering Department, where he worked to coordinate resources for the delivery of the city’s adopted capital improvement plan for its Storm Water Engineering Program. He also served as a project manager for a commercial design-build firm, an architecture and urban planning firm, and another consulting firm.

Schneider is involved in the Bayou Preservation Association and American Public Works Association. He earned a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from the University of Houston and a Bachelor of Environmental Design in Architecture from Texas A&M University.
