Stantec Welcomes Finn Jakobsen as Mechanical Project Manager

Lynnwood, WA: Stantec hired Finn Jakobsen as a Mechanical Engineering Project Manager in its Lynnwood office. Jakobsen has more than 33 years of experience providing mechanical engineering design and project management services in the Pacific Northwest.

His design experience includes both new and remodeled healthcare, laboratory, higher education, and research facilities. His expertise includes the design of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems, and construction administration. He also brings a deep understanding of feasibility studies and cost estimating, and has experience with design of geothermal heating/cooling systems to aid in the LEED certification process.

Jakobsen is working closely with the mechanical team in the Seattle office to support the delivery of innovative and complete mechanical designs. Currently, he is providing quality control services for the Lakefront Blocks Tenant Improvement project in Seattle’s South Lake Union neighborhood.


Jakobsen earned his degree in mechanical engineering from Seattle University. He is a member of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers. (ASHRAE) and carries a Healthcare Facilities Design Professional (HFDP) designation from ASHRAE. He is affiliated with AIA Architecture for Health Panel (AHP), Washington State Society for Healthcare Engineering (WSSHE), the Society for College and University Planning (SCUP), and the Tau Beta Pi Engineering Honor Society.
