Anchorage, AK (November 8, 2017) NYSE, TSX:STN: Adam Leggett, Stantec’s Alaska Native Program Manager in Anchorage, was recently selected one of the top young Native American leaders by the National Center for American Indian Enterprise Development (NCAIED). Leggett was named a 2017 Native American 40 Under 40 award recipient by the non-profit organization.

The award recognizes those in the Native American communities who demonstrate leadership, initiative, and dedication, making significant contributions in business or to their communities. The award was presented at the inaugural Northwest Enterprise Development Conference in Tulalip, Washington.

“The 2017 40 Under 40 award recipients are comprised of a diverse group of young men and women cultivated from across American Indian and Alaska Native communities, each of whom have devoted their skills and resources to enhancing their communities,” said Chris James, president and CEO of the National Center for American Indian Enterprise Development.

In addition to his work at Stantec, which focuses on developing business relationships with Alaska Native corporations and organizations, Leggett, 34, is a council trustee for the Native Village of Eklutna and serves on the scholarship committee for Eklutna, Inc. He holds a Master of Business Administration from Alaska Pacific University and a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Florida State University. He served four years in the U.S. Navy as a cryptologic technician.

“At Stantec, we put people first—it is one of our core values. That’s why this recognition is an honor for Adam and we’re excited to celebrate his award with him,” said Tim Vig, Stantec Senior Principal in Anchorage. “We’re privileged to have Adam as part of the Stantec team, and I’m pleased that the award acknowledges his role in the Alaska Native community.”
