Michael Baker International Promotes Michael J. Conaboy, P.E., to Regional Director for the Firm’s West Region

Pittsburgh (October 18, 2017)Michael Baker International, a global leader in engineering, planning and consulting services, today announced the promotion of Michael J. Conaboy, P.E., to Regional Director for the firm’s West Region. Mr. Conaboy will be based in the firm’s Santa Ana, California, office and report directly to Michael Baker’s Chief Operating Officer Dale R. Spaulding, P.E.

 

In his new role, Mr. Conaboy will focus on growing the West Region and is responsible for regional leadership, marketing, business development, resource allocation and acquisition, and the overall profitability and efficiency of the nearly 20 regional offices across Arizona, California, Nevada and Washington.

Mr. Conaboy’s career with Michael Baker spans 23 years and most recently saw him serve in the role of National Practice Lead for the Water Practice. In this role, Mr. Conaboy was responsible for the implementation of the firm’s water strategies through collaboration with the regional water and management teams to expand the water practice related to the areas of water/wastewater, water treatment, distribution/collection, green infrastructure, CSO water quality, resiliency, and surface water expertise.

 

He began in Michael Baker’s Alexandria, Virginia, office, where he worked on a project for the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and has since advanced to numerous senior-level management positions at the firm. Mr. Conaboy previously served as Area Executive for New York and New Jersey, where he oversaw professionals in planning, traffic, ITS, GIT, water, environmental, civil/highway, architecture, structures, geotechnical, pavement, and construction management. He also served as Vice President and Office Executive for the firm’s New Jersey operation which has offices in Hamilton and Newark.

 

Mr. Conaboy has volunteered his time and expertise to numerous organizations including: the American Society of Civil Engineers, the American Council of Engineering Companies, Engineers Without Borders and the Association of Returned Peace Corps Volunteers. He also has served as an adjunct professor of hydrology and hydraulics for graduate-school programs at Drexel University and the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

 

He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Drexel University and a Master of Science degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from The George Washington University in Washington, D.C.

 

Mr. Conaboy succeeds Anna Lantin, P.E., as Regional Director for the West Region. Ms. Lantin will transition to the newly created role of Senior Vice President of Business Development, where she will support Mr. Conaboy to focus on nurturing and growing client relationships and business in the region.

Ms. Lantin brings more than 25 years of experience to her new role, including managing stormwater projects in hydrology, hydraulics, sediment transport, watershed restoration, stormwater quality research designs, Best Management Practices (BMP) design and implementation, construction oversight, water quality monitoring, operation and maintenance, and performance data analysis.
