Association President David Bernhardt appointed Aaron Gillispie of the West Virginia Department of Transportation to chair the National Transportation Product Evaluation Program Oversight Committee.
That program is a public-private partnership that provides single-source testing of common products used by state DOTs and manufactured to AASHTO standards. It includes auditing and on-site inspection of factories manufacturing those products.
Gillispie is chief engineer at the West Virginia DOT’s Division of Highways, and a former director of its Materials Control, Soils and Testing Division.
His two-year appointment, which is subject to confirmation by the AASHTO Executive Committee, runs through the end of the association’s 2019 annual meeting.
