Chloe Coney Joins HNTB as Public Involvement Specialist

TAMPA, Fla. – Chloe Coney joined HNTB Corporation as public involvement specialist, based in the firm’s Tampa office. 

Coney has nearly 40 years of experience advocating for community building and neighborhood revitalization. She is experienced in public involvement, mediation, management and marketing. She has held a variety of leadership and community roles in the Tampa Bay area.

Prior to joining HNTB, Chloe was the district director for Congresswoman Kathy Castor, District 14, where she worked closely with communities to bring value to the constituents of Hillsborough and Pinellas counties. Coney was the founder and first president of the Corporation to Develop Communities of Tampa, an organization that provides job training, promotes entrepreneurship, develops youth leadership programs, revitalizes commercial areas and builds affordable housing.

Coney’s responsibilities at HNTB include implementing public-involvement strategies for clients and helping facilitate stakeholder communications on transportation projects.  “Chloe is a trusted member of the Tampa Bay community and has a reputation of working with multiple stakeholders to solve challenging problems,” said Len Becker, PE, HNTB West Florida office leader and vice president. “HNTB is fortunate to have Chloe partnering with our transportation agency clients and communities in Tampa Bay to understand what stakeholders value and deliver win-win transportation projects.”

Coney earned a master’s degree in biblical counseling from Florida Beacon Bible College and a bachelor’s degree in sociology/corrections from Florida A&M University.

In West Florida, HNTB serves the Florida Department of Transportation, Tampa Hillsborough Expressway Authority, Tampa International Airport, Hillsborough County, Pinellas County, Hillsborough Area Regional Transit Authority, Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority.
