ONTARIO, Calif.  – HNTB Corporation, a national infrastructure solutions firm celebrating more than a century of service to clients, continues to expand its Southern California operations in the Inland Empire. To meet the region’s rapidly growing infrastructure needs, HNTB moved to larger office space in Ontario and continues to add key professionals to its team. An open house was held May 18 to debut the new space.

Located at 3633 Inland Empire Boulevard, the office offers additional work and meeting space over the firm’s previous location. With expanded facilities, professionals can better service key regional transportation clients, including the California Department of Transportation – District 8, San Bernardino County Transportation Authority, Riverside County Transportation Commission, the City of Ontario, and Ontario International Airport Authority, among others.

“We are fully committed to supporting the Inland Empire’s transportation needs and strengthening our capabilities in all practice areas to deliver complex infrastructure projects that can enhance the region’s mobility,” said Khalil Saba, PE, HNTB Inland Empire area manager and vice president. “To keep pace with the expected growth in the Inland Empire, we’re eager to expand our workforce with experienced professionals who can provide a wide range of solutions to address the region’s transportation challenges.”

Nationally known experts recently joining the HNTB team in the Inland Empire include: Omar Merheb, transportation director; Portia Gonzales, PE, project manager, transportation and drainage expert; Hiep Bui, PE, engineering manager; and Sam Saghafi, PE, principal engineer.

Last December, the San Bernardino County Transportation Authority selected HNTB to perform program management/construction management services for the Interstate 10 Corridor Express Lanes project, one of the agency’s largest construction design-build projects in San Bernardino County, California. As prime consultant, HNTB will manage a team of partners on the project with the goal of relieving congestion on one of San Bernardino’s critical transportation corridors.

HNTB is a leading infrastructure solutions firm in the U.S. In California, the firm has roots to the West since beginning work on Pasadena’s Arroyo Seco Bridge in 1914, the firm’s first year of operation, and has since been involved in some of the region’s most high-profile, complex infrastructure programs.

In Southern California, HNTB is currently providing toll facility program management and tolling technology services for the San Diego Association of Governments, the Transportation Corridor Agencies, Orange County Transportation Authority and Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority.

HNTB’s many signature infrastructure projects in the West Division, which serves 30 clients in nine states, include: San Francisco 49ers’ Levi’s Stadium, Interstate 405 Sepulveda Pass Improvements project, Seattle’s Sound Transit University Link light-rail and tunnel project, the Tom Bradley International Terminal Expansion for Los Angeles World Airports, and the “Green Build” expansion at San Diego International Airport.

Currently, HNTB is working with the City of Los Angeles to deliver final design and construction support services for the Sixth Street Viaduct over the Los Angeles River between downtown and Boyle Heights. Additionally, the firm is providing design and engineering services for the Crenshaw/LAX Transit Project on behalf of LA Metro.
