DMAC Architecture, Chicago’s premier architecture firm, partners with Doc B’s Fresh Kitchen, the Chicago-based fresh, casual dining concept, spearheading the innovative design of its restaurant locations nationwide. With three completed restaurants under its belt and a slew of new sites coming down the pipeline, DMAC continues as an integral partner of the budding chain as it expands.

Under the creative direction of Dwayne MacEwen – Principal and Founder – the DMAC team is behind the minimalistic design of Doc B’s Fresh Kitchen reflecting the simple, mindful ingredients and comfortable environment the brand is celebrated for. Doc B’s Fresh Kitchen is distinguished by its warm and approachable atmosphere, and accommodating dining experience, and the sophisticated design of each location embraces the company’s mantra to a T.

“Architecture is an experience, and how people experience a business is vital to its success,” said MacEwen of DMAC. “Fresh, casual dining is the core of Doc B’s Fresh Kitchen. Keeping this in mind, our team creates transparent and honest spaces allowing guests to not only experience the food, but also the whole story behind that food getting to their plates. Each location serves as a laboratory that allows us to experiment with the way people eat and experience the restaurant, resulting in an evolving brand.”

DMAC has designed Doc B’s Fresh Kitchen locations in Chicago, IL, and Tampa, FL, with additional locations set to open in Fort Lauderdale, FL, Fort Worth, Austin and Dallas, TX, in 2017, and in Aventura, FL, in early 2018. While programmatically similar, each location boasts its own style with interior elements and decor inspired by the region and neighborhood surrounding it. The Doc B’s Fresh Kitchen location in the heart of Chicago’s Gold Coast neighborhood features a glass storefront allowing guests to experience the city, while the Tampa location boasts glass envelopes and outdoor seating, with shade being a top priority for the design team.

“At Doc B’s Fresh Kitchen, we strive for excellence and consistently seek ways to set new standards for our cuisine, service and atmosphere. The design of a restaurant contributes immensely to creating an unforgettable dining experience, which is why we chose to partner with DMAC,” said Doc B’s Fresh Kitchen founder and president, Craig Bernstein. “Their commitment to innovation and perfection parallels the standards Doc B’s Fresh Kitchen sets for itself – they constantly exceed our expectations and we look forward to seeing what they come up with as we roll out new locations.”

ABOUT DMAC ARCHITECTURE
DMAC is a full-service architecture firm based in Evanston, IL, specializing in both commercial and residential projects, with a portfolio ranging from simple interiors to complex buildings. Founded in 1995 by Dwayne MacEwen, the firm prides itself on its ability to generate exceptional, unique and award-winning work. Each project is based on the fundamental approach of identifying the distinguishing elements, with the belief that the careful development of ideas is more important than a dependence on a style. Providing clients with innovative and custom tailored designs, DMAC takes a holistic approach with the philosophy that architecture contains the arts, and is not just a container for the arts.

Under MacEwen’s leadership, DMAC respects the past without attempting to repeat it, experimenting while basing the firm’s foundation on successfully executed projects. DMAC is known for its extensive knowledge of current fabrication methods, designing and developing interior elements in addition to traditional architecture. Notable projects include Midtown Athletic Club (2017), Michael Jordan’s Steak House, Roka Akor, Doc B’s Fresh Kitchen, Rivers Casino and Resort, Mario Tricoci Hair Salon & Day Spa, and Lamborghini Gold Coast, with a host of prestigious projects underway for 2017.
