Sohail Khan Joins HNTB as Senior Project Director

AUSTIN, Texas  – Sohail Khan, PE, has joined HNTB Corporation as senior project director and vice president. He is based in the firm’s Austin, Texas, office.

Khan has over 30 years of experience in planning, design, construction, procurement and oversight of major infrastructure projects across the country in a variety of market sectors including highways, bridges, tunnels and rail. He also has project delivery expertise in bid-build, design-build and public-private partnerships. Khan’s main focus with HNTB is serving in a program management and consulting role for DOT clients on major highway programs.

“Sohail’s wide-ranging knowledge and extensive background in managing a variety of complex projects will serve our clients well as they look to overcome their unique challenges in building transportation networks that are safe, efficient and effective,” said Tom Ellis, PE, HNTB Central Division President.

Khan earned both bachelor’s and master’s degree in civil engineering as well as a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Texas.

In Texas, the firm has been involved with some of the most high-profile infrastructure projects, including Mobility35 in Austin, the Dallas Horseshoe Interchange, and the reconstruction and expansion of U.S. Highway 290 in Houston.
