Rensel Appointed Vice President at Gannett Fleming

Harrisburg, Pa. – Eric Rensel, traffic incident management project manager, has been named a vice president of Gannett Fleming in recognition of his contributions to the firm. He began his career with the company as a freshly-graduated intern and has been a valued employee for more than 17 years.
Rensel is a leader in the firm’s connected and automated vehicle (CV/AV) working group. He plays a key role in keeping Gannett Fleming clients informed on how CV/AV will impact the transportation industry.
“Eric’s commitment to furthering his own knowledge of technological advancements in the transportation industry and sharing that information with colleagues and clients has been key in keeping Gannett Fleming on the cutting edge,” said Matthew Schiemer, PE, director of transportation operations. “He consistently looks for ways for our transportation clients to improve safety for travelers and first responders and is able to see how technology can help our clients reach their goals.”
A graduate of The Pennsylvania State University, Rensel holds a bachelor of science in structural design and construction engineering technology. He is an accomplished presenter and published author in the areas of traffic incident management and traffic technology. A past-president of the Mid-Atlantic Section of the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE), Rensel currently is the chair of the Transportation Systems Management & Operations Council.
