HNTB Adds Senior Transportation Planner, Peter Bruno, to Growing Atlanta Office
ATLANTA, July , 2016 – Peter Bruno joined HNTB Corporation’s Atlanta transportation planning team as a senior project manager.
Bruno brings more than 25 years of experience that includes multimodal transportation operations planning, business development, operation and maintenance cost estimation, and transportation development plans.
“Peter’s hire is part of a growth trend that our practice and office currently is experiencing,” said Ehren Bingaman, HNTB Atlanta director of transportation planning. “The addition of Peter helps solidify the creation of a highly experienced transportation planning team working to improve mobility in the region.”
According to Bingaman, who transferred to HNTB’s Atlanta office from the firm’s Indianapolis office last year, the transportation planning practice is anticipated to grow by at least three more professionals this year. The transportation planning team oversees the office’s travel demands modeling group and Georgia Commute Options team. The firm’s work on planning projects currently underway in the region includes, developing a strategic and sustainable financial plan for the Georgia Regional Transportation Authority, supporting the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority’s transition to a contracted paratransit service model and providing program management services for MARTA’s planning department.
Bruno’s Atlanta-area transportation experience includes serving as lead project manager for Atlanta Streetcar Operations and Maintenance tasks for MARTA; leading system redesign of a circulator shuttle for Perimeter Community Improvement Districts; and developing MARTA’s first asset management plan and policy statement.
Prior to joining HNTB, Bruno served as senior director for another consulting firm in Atlanta.
He earned a Bachelor of Arts in history from Gordon College in Massachusetts and a Master of Public Administration from Georgia State University.
