Cardno Leader Elected Region Director of American Society of Civil Engineers

Cardno is delighted to announce that Dr Brett Phillips, Asia Pacific Discipline Leader – Water, has been elected Director for Region 10 of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) for the period 2016-2019.

This achievement formally recognises Dr Phillips as an esteemed industry leader and provides opportunities to further assist ASCE implement its global strategy and to enhance the delivery of ASCE services and benefits to its members located in 173 countries.  He will serve on the ASCE Board of Direction and the ASCE Executive Committee.

Dr Phillips 30 years of professional experience has seen him work on numerous major projects across Australia, Singapore, and Malaysia in the areas of hydro-environmental assessment, catchment and floodplain management, flood mitigation and stormwater quality. Many of these projects have received Divisional and/or National engineering excellence awards from prestigious organisations such as Engineers Australia, Stormwater Australia, Stormwater NSW and Consult Australia.

The American Society of Civil Engineers is the preeminent organisation representing the civil engineering profession worldwide. ASCE facilitates the advancement of technology, encourages and provides the tools for lifelong learning, promotes the profession and influences public policy. Region 10 is the home of all ASCE international members and covers all countries outside the United States, including Australia.
