HNTB Hires Khalil Saba as New Inland Empire Office Leader

LOS ANGELES, May 18, 2016—Khalil Saba joined HNTB Corporation as Inland Empire office leader, where he will be leading the continued growth of the firm’s operations to better serve regional transportation clients, including the California Department of Transportation – District 8, San Bernardino Associated Governments, Riverside County Transportation Commission, the City of Ontario, and other cities and agencies in the Inland Empire.

“Khalil’s extensive transportation background, and strong leadership and team building skills are an excellent fit with our ongoing expansion plans in Southern California,” said Art Hadnett, HNTB West Division president. “Khalil strengthens our presence in the Inland Empire and will provide his unique understanding of transportation solutions to assist those communities implement a diverse array of mobility options reducing congestion and improving air quality.”

Saba brings more than 37 years of transportation industry experience in civil engineering and program and project management in the western United States and Canada. His expertise encompasses road and highway development, where he has a proven track record of success managing and completing complex infrastructure projects.

Prior to joining HNTB, Saba served another consulting firm as senior vice president and sector manager focusing on business development, customer service and internal operations. He was responsible for overseeing 17 area managers and 400 employees. In addition, Saba spent 13 years serving Caltrans and the State of California. As the deputy director for Caltrans District 8, he oversaw the delivery of the District’s capital program and worked closely with SANBAG, RCTC and local government agencies to help them deliver transportation projects.

His public transportation project management experience includes the $4.5 billion SANBAG Program,  Interstate 215 Bi-County HOV Project, San Bernardino/Riverside, California; Interstate 215 Barton Road Interchange, Grand Terrace, California; Colton Crossing, Colton, California; and the SR91/SR71 Interchange Improvement Project in Corona, California, among many others.

Saba earned a Bachelor of Engineering, Specialty Civil Engineering degree from the American University of Beirut. He is a licensed professional engineer in California.

An active member in professional organizations at the national and state level, Saba’s accomplishments include a certificate of appreciation from the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials Value Engineering Task Force and the Caltrans Quality Team Award for the Statewide Project Management Improvement Team, California Department of Transportation.
