MWH Global Acquires Slayden Construction Group

The construction subsidiary of Broomfield-based MWH Global has acquired the Slayden Construction Group, based in Stayton, Ore. MWH made the acquisition in order to significantly expand its presence in the Pacific Northwest.

Slayden, known for its work in renewable energy and hydropower projects, as well as fisheries, dams and river restoration, was founded in 1984.

The two firms will employ some 1,700 people in the U.S. and United Kingdom. Slayden Construction will operate under a new name, Slayden Constructors, Inc. The deal was finalized Dec. 31. Financial terms were not disclosed.
