SAN DIEGO – Did you know that Caltrans is responsible for more maintaining more than 15,000 culverts in San Diego and Imperial counties? These culverts play an important role in keeping motorists safe by efficiently moving run-off from the freeways. Just like the roadways, these underground networks of inlets and tunnels require regular inspection and maintenance.
