Autodesk to Co-Sponsor GeoBIM Europe 2014
Geospatial Media and Communications announces Autodesk as co-sponsor of GeoBIM Europe 2014, scheduled to be held on 19-20 November in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
Autodesk Building Information Modelling (BIM) infrastructure solutions help turn information into insight to optimise designs and help accelerate approvals, resulting in more effective and resilient infrastructure.
“Geospatial information is key to the BIM process, especially when it comes to Infrastructure. We need to collaborate from a GIS and design side to make BIM for Infrastructure work,” explains Tracey Stone, Senior Infrastructure Product Sales Specialist Lead EMEA at Autodesk.
GeoBIM Europe 2014 is a new initiative by Geospatial Media and Communications, in collaboration with Geonovum and Rijkswaterstaat. The conference has so far confirmed 24 speakers from the Geospatial, AEC and Infrastructure industry across the region to address challenges and opportunities of geo + BIM integration in the building and infrastructure sector in Europe especially in terms of policy, standards and technology availability.
“We understand Autodesk has a range of products and expertise in the Building and Infrastructure domain with massive clientele within the AEC circle. GeoBIM Europe shall serve as a platform that brings together this circle and the geospatial industry, which is important for the overall development of GeoBIM,” says Annu Negi, Director – Europe, Geospatial Media and Communications.
Tracey Stone adds “Autodesk is very pleased to be a sponsor for the inaugural GeoBIM Europe. We look forward to meeting with other vendors and clients and discussing how we can work together to make BIM for infrastructure a success.”
GeoBIM Europe 2014 has also secured support from Trimble as Gold Sponsor; CSTB and TNO as Strategic Partners; OGC, buildingSMART and Architects’ Council of Europe (ACE) as Supporting Organisations; and a handful of media partners including BIMcrunch, CAD Magazine, GIS Magazine, Informed Infrastructure and The BIM Hub.
