New Radio Frequency-Based Security System for Law Enforcement
Surveillance of suspects, protection of assets, and securement of crime scenes are daily challenges for the Law Enforcement and First Responder community. Intelligent Automation, Inc. (IAI) introduced today the ARGUS PS Series product to provide a covert, mobile, unattended perimeter security and alert capability. Derived from proven technology originally developed for U.S.. Military applications, ARGUS™ PS consists of rugged wireless sensors networked together to form a protective, invisible trip wire around any area or infrastructure of interest.
Using as few as two to more than 50 small, battery-powered devices and one or more ARGUS Eye Pan-Tilt-Zoom cameras, ARGUS PS provides alerts of intrusions of the perimeter around a stakeout location or crime scene. ARGUSTM PS captures alerts and images of the intrusion event that are sent directly to the user-friendly control computer, existing police surveillance command station, or to any cellular telephone(s). ARGUS PS is rapidly deployable, affordable, and agile to inter-operate with law enforcement technologies to provide remote surveillance and security. ARGUS PS can also provide triggers to existing police camera networks to reduce manning requirements and to maximize event detection probability. Camera images and alert data are logged by ARGUSTM PS and can be dispatched to existing police surveillance networks for forensic analysis and potential prosecution.
