Matthews Named National Highway PLT Leader

(Piscataway, NJ) Global infrastructure and engineering firm Gannett Fleming has appointed Robert Matthews, PE, ENV SP, as the National Highway Practice Leader. In this role, he is responsible for business development, client satisfaction, and successful project delivery for the firm’s award-winning highway designs.

A valued member of Gannett Fleming since 1996, Matthews has worked on some of the largest and most challenging transportation infrastructure projects in the Northeast region, including the award-winning revitalization of New Jersey Route 18, the I-78 and Garden State Parkway Interchange 142 Improvement Project, and the improvement of Interchange 14A with the New Jersey Turnpike Authority. He has served as a member of the Highway PLT since 2006 and provides leadership, quality assurance and control, project management, and technical advisory services for Gannett Fleming’s transportation clients.

 

Matthews earned a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. Active in professional associations, he has held leadership positions with the American Society of Highway Engineers North-Central New Jersey Section and the American Society of Civil Engineers New Jersey Section. The American Society of Civil Engineers North Jersey Branch recognized Matthews as their Young Engineer of the Year in 2008.
