Carrie Rocha Selected as HNTB Atlanta Office Leader
ATLANTA, Ga. – Carrie Rocha, PE, vice president, was named HNTB Corporation’s Atlanta office leader. She previously served in a similar role for HNTB’s Connecticut operation.
With her move to Atlanta, Rocha brings 20 years of experience in transportation infrastructure project and construction management, contract administration and engineering for highways, bridges, tunnels, transit/rail, aviation and related facilities. She fills the office leader vacancy left by Jeff Parker who became MARTA general manager and CEO.
“Atlanta, and Georgia as a whole, continue to make significant infrastructure investments to expand mobility options,” said Charlie Herndon, PE, HNTB Southeast Division president. “Carrie has the right experience and leadership qualities to jump in to oversee our growing office in Atlanta and provide valuable insight to transportation agencies working hard to bring congestion relief to commuters in this region.”
A registered professional engineer, Rocha is a graduate of Worcester Polytechnic Institute (Worcester, Mass.) with a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering. She is a past president of the Connecticut chapter of the Construction Management Association of America and held numerous leadership roles with both the Connecticut and Boston chapters of the Women’s Transportation Seminar.
HNTB currently is celebrating the 50th anniversary of its Atlanta office, which serves numerous local public and private clients. HNTB’s work during the past five decades includes more than 30 major highway improvement projects for the Georgia Department of Transportation, with roles as program manager of both the I-75 South Metro Express Lanes and Northwest Corridor Express Lanes projects. The firm provides general planning consultation for Georgia Regional Transportation Authority and State Road and Tollway Authority, and on-call transit planning and engineering for Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority.
