Kats Joins WSP as Business Development Manager

LOS ANGELES — Steven Kats has been named business development manager for the Los Angeles transportation and infrastructure business of WSP USA, formerly WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff, a leading engineering and professional services consultancy.

In his new position, Mr. Kats will work closely with the firm’s Los Angeles office staff and regional leadership to achieve annual sales goals, develop and implement tactical action plans and client relation management plans, and lead key external initiatives. He will also serve as the small business partnering lead for the office, responsible for organizing and implementing outreach and inclusion activities, facilitating introductions to project managers and key staff, and identifying other partnership opportunities

Previously, Mr. Kats was vice president of business development at an international professional consulting and engineering services firm at which he led many successful bids for transportation projects. Additionally, he led pursuits for several large transit projects for the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Authority (Metro) and other transportation agencies.

Mr. Kats has a B.S. in finance from DePaul University in Chicago. He serves on the board of directors and as the transportation committee co-chair for the Valley Industry Commerce Association as well as on the board of directors for the LAX Coastal Chamber of Commerce. He is also a member of the Los Angeles chapters of the Women’s Transportation Seminar and the Conference of Minority Transportation Officials.
