The American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) recently appointed Michael Snyder, PE, as the coalitions chair. In this role, Snyder will collaborate with the organization’s six coalition chairs to coordinate joint activities and a strategic plan.

The ACEC coalitions are dedicated communities of members and include the Council of American Mechanical and Electrical Engineers, the Council of American Structural Engineers, the Council of Professional Surveyors, the Design Professional Coalition, the Land Development Coalition, and the Small Firm Council. The goal of the coalitions is to share knowledge and best practices with ACEC members.

As a senior vice president at Dewberry, Snyder has more than 36 years of experience providing land design services in Maryland, and leading the firm’s site/civil engineering team. He oversees more than 150 employees in three Maryland offices and West Virginia, and provides land planning, surveying, engineering, and landscape architecture services for projects with wide ranges of scale and in multiple jurisdictions. He earned his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Pennsylvania State University (1981). He is a professional engineer in Maryland and Pennsylvania, and a member of ACEC, the International Council of Shopping Centers, and the Maryland Building Industry Association.
