Stantec Expands Leadership of Urban Planning and Design Group

Washington, D.C. TSX, NYSE:STN: Global design firm Stantec announced that Jess Alexander has moved from the firm’s Abu Dhabi office to help lead the expansion of Urban Places, Stantec’s multidisciplinary team of urban planning, design, mobility and resilience experts, across the U.S. East Coast. As a principal based in the firm’s Arlington, Va. office, Alexander will focus on planning, public realm design and urban design, as well as building an awareness of Urban Places in the Washington, D.C. area.

With 14 years of extensive project experience, Alexander is an accomplished landscape architect specializing in urban design and master planning. He holds established expertise in master planning and public realm design of vital waterfront communities, having completed more than 10 large-scale waterfront community master plans in the past five years. Among his more prominent projects is the design of the 50-acre Makers District in the heart of Abu Dhabi. The waterfront community was designed through a process of research and collaboration between global design teams focused on creating a destination that cultivates creativity and enriches people’s lives.
