Connected Vehicle Expert Jeffrey Arch Joins HNTB

Parsippany, N.J. – Jeffrey Arch joined HNTB Corporation as senior project manager for smart cities, connected vehicles and automated vehicles.

Based in the firm’s Parsippany office, Arch joins the Northeast intelligent transportation systems practice supporting clients in the New Jersey/New York region that include the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, the New Jersey Department of Transportation, and the New Jersey Turnpike Authority to implement connected and autonomous vehicle technologies along with other aspects of intelligent transportation systems.

“Jeff is a highly experienced and recognized leader in developing and implementing connected and automated vehicle technologies,” said Gary Hullfish, PE, HNTB’s New Jersey office leader and vice president. “Transportation agencies throughout the region recognize the importance of these emerging technologies and the positive benefits they offer for improved safety and mobility for travelers.”

Arch brings more than 34 years of transportation experience that includes serving as program manager for the first phase of planning for New York City’s connected vehicle pilot project and the pilot installation of a connected vehicle safety system for transit buses in Cleveland. His expertise includes developing, implementing, operating and maintaining intelligent transportation projects in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and New York as well as in Montreal and Toronto. Arch’s experience also includes federal partnerships with the Federal Transit Administration and Federal Highway Administration.

A graduate of Villanova University with a master’s in transportation engineering, Arch also holds a bachelor’s in civil engineering from Pennsylvania University.

 

In New Jersey, HNTB’s work includes the design of the Pulaski Skyway rehabilitation and design of the dedicated truck route from our region’s Ports known as Portway as well as other projects for the New Jersey Department of Transportation. HNTB currently is serving as the general consulting engineer for the New Jersey Turnpike Authority; construction manager for the Garden State Parkway interchange 125 improvement project; and program manager for New Jersey Transit’s post-superstorm Sandy resiliency efforts, among others.
