Cardno Leads the Discussion on Challenges and Opportunities in Philippine Infrastructure

Rod James, Country Manager of New Zealand, and David van Senden, Asia Pacific Water Resources Director, presented as part of the Transport and Water and Wastewater session at the Australian-New Zealand Chamber of Commerce (ANZCHAM) Philippines, 19 September, 2017. 

Cardno’s Rod James, Country Manager of New Zealand, presented on outcome based projects and maintenance as part of the Transport session. The intent of the presentation was to highlight the benefits and challenges of these types of delivery models. 

During the Water and Wastewater session, Cardno’s David van Senden spoke on the future challenges for Manila’s infrastructure based on projections of lower rainfall induced by climate change and rising sea level. The discussion focused on risks to water quality and increased flooding in key areas like the Laguna de Bay and the potential outcomes.

Rod James has over 25 years’ experience in a range of transport leadership roles, including the management of major projects. He is the Country Manager of New Zealand and has a strong technical background in ITS technology, transport strategy and alternative procurement models.
David van Senden is the Asia Pacific Water Resources Director and is backed with over 25 years’ experience in providing services to government and industry clients. He is responsible for the coordination of Asia Pacific business development activities across the region.

Experts from government, private sector and the development sector provide information and in-depth insights on potential opportunities in water and wastewater, transport and energy.
