David Bulger joins Stantec as Atlantic Buildings Sector Leader

David Bulger has joined Stantec as sector leader for the Atlantic Canada buildings group. An authority on buildings engineering, David specializes in structural engineering. He has more than 25 years of experience in consulting engineering and engineering projects, including design, departmental management, project management, and business development. David will work from Stantec’s Dartmouth, Nova Scotia office.

Throughout his career, David has been involved in a wide variety of design and construction projects, ranging from healthcare, education, industrial, commercial, and multi-tenant residential buildings, as well as refinery, scaffolding, bridge, and marine structures. As David joins Stantec’s leadership group in Atlantic Canada, he will focus on business development and growth, and contributing to the structural engineering group.

“In the last couple of years, the buildings sector has increasingly required us to deliver more efficient projects. Our clients need us to do more with less. David will help us do that,” says Rob Dumaresq, Stantec’s managing lead for buildings, Atlantic Canada. “David has a proven track-record of delivering complicated and complex building construction projects on time and on budget. We look forward sharing David’s experience and knowledge to benefit our clients.”

As a Professional Engineer, David’s previous positions include manager, structural engineering with SNC Lavalin, where he managed a group of structural engineers and was a key contributor to winning and managing projects, and also oversaw design. He has also served as senior structural engineer with BMR Structural Engineering. David’s recent notable projects include lead structural engineer on the new Halifax Central Library; the DND Hangar Development Program in Trenton Ontario; the School of Sustainable Design Engineering Building, and the UPEI Campus.

David is a Dartmouth resident, a graduate of the University of New Brunswick and a Graduate Member with the Institute of Structural Engineers. David is a registered Engineer in Nova Scotia and Ontario, with previous registrations in British Columbia, Alberta, and New Brunswick.
