HNTB Names Stephen Knobbe North Texas Office Leader
DALLAS – Stephen Knobbe, PE, has been named North Texas office leader for HNTB Corporation. An HNTB vice president, Knobbe oversees 100 infrastructure professionals and is responsible for operations for the firm’s offices in Dallas and Plano. He leads development of sales and marketing strategies to ensure profitable growth, developing strong client relationships and supporting major project pursuits and delivery. He is based in Dallas.
Knobbe joined HNTB in 2007 and has served in a variety of leadership roles, including a previous two-year stint as North Texas office leader as well as program manager for the firm’s work with the North Texas Tollway Authority. Most recently, he was senior project manager for Dallas Area Rapid Transit’s $102 million South Oak Cliff Line Section 3 project. Knobbe led a technical team to complete design and construction management of a 3-mile extension, including two new rail stations and the rebuilding of an existing station.

Knobbe has more than 30 years of experience on high-profile projects for state departments of transportation, tolling agencies, transit and rail providers as well as expertise in program management. He earned a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from Missouri University of Science and Technology.
In North Texas, HNTB currently is working on, or has been involved with, some of the region’s most significant infrastructure projects, including serving as final designer and program manager for the Dallas Area Rapid Transit Blue Line Light Rail extension to serve South Oak Cliff; general engineering consultant to the Texas Department of Transportation on CityMAP, a study aimed at assessing major urban interstate corridors immediately surrounding and entering the urban core of Dallas; and providing construction and program management services for Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport.
