Chevron Awards Structural Integrity Services contract to Atkins

Chevron North Sea Ltd (“Chevron”) has awarded Atkins a three year framework contract for structural integrity services across selected fixed and floating platforms in the UK North Sea.

Les Newman, director in Atkins’ Energy business, said: “Our team is driven by the market need to reduce unit operating costs by improving production and optimising integrity, built on a foundation of improving safety performance across the asset lifecycle.”

The contract covers assets including the Alba Northern platform and topsides of the Alba floating storage unit (FSU) (the first to be purpose-built for the UK North Sea); the topsides of the Captain floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel, as well as the wellhead protector platform (WPP) and bridge linked platform (BLP) on the Captain field, and the Erskine platform.
