CULTEC Inc. is a family owned and operated company with experience in the drainage industry for over 65 years. As the manufacturer of Contactor® and Recharger® Plastic Septic and Stormwater Chambers, CULTEC offers the largest variety of sizes to fit almost any site requirement. Recently, the installation of CULTEC’s Recharger 902HD chamber was utilized at Marion Elementary School in Chambersburg, Pa., to satisfy stormwater management requirements. Due to an existing septic system onsite, the units would need to be designed around a confined installation area. As one of the largest stormwater chambers available, the 902HD model stands at 48” high and has a bare-chamber storage capacity of 17.66 square feet. The 902HD was able to accommodate the site constraints and storage criteria while giving engineers design flexibility and cost savings to the school.

Heavyweight Sediment Control Solutions 11.DuraWattle Picture

The DuraWattle® is a flexible sediment barrier that is made to be driven over. This reusable BMP is installable on soil, curbs or hard surfaces. Improve your perimeter control with a synthetic wattle that is durable and UV-resistant. It will remain lightweight and moveable after a rain event, and it doesn’t break down or leech pollutants. Each 12-foot section of the DuraWattle® fits together to create a continuous barrier tested at 96.6 percent sediment retention (ASTM D7351) and 58 percent turbidity reduction. The low profile of the DuraWattle® helps improve visibility and site access. This berm provides effective dewatering by allowing the water to flow through the barrier rather than ponding behind it. The DuraWattle® is manufactured in the United States by Heavyweight Sediment Control Solutions in Sacramento, Calif.

Milliken Infrastructure Solutions 13.MIS Geospray McAllen 2

Milliken Infrastructure’s GeoSpray® geopolymer is a chemically resistant fiber-reinforced mortar system specifically engineered to rehabilitate pipes, culverts and containment areas. The GeoSpray system looks, feels and handles like cement, but with much higher performance properties. Its unique chemistry provides superior flexural and tensile strength as well as ultra-low porosity and high self-bonding characteristics, helping to prevent cold joints prevalent with Portland cement-based products.

GeoSpray geopolymer is designed to address issues including scoured or pitted inverts on corrugated culverts, shape deformations, joint failures, water infiltration and more. The material is effective on any shape of pipe down to 30” in diameter, including right angles, curves, boxes and arches. Once applied, GeoSpray effectively creates a new structural pipe inside the old pipe, requiring no digging and minimizing public disruption.

PRESTO GEOSYSTEMS

Presto Geosystems’ GEOPAVE® porous pavements were utilized for parking and walkways with other environmental and sustainable products at a Wisconsin nature preserve, The Ridges Sanctuary, in its pursuit for USGBC LEED® Platinum rating.

Protecting Lake Michigan’s watershed was a primary concern at this facility’s location adjacent to the lake’s western shores. The porous pavements were an important part of the overall plan to protect the waters against the negative effects of stormwater runoff on water quality. The GEOPAVE system, infilled with highly porous stone, allows water infiltration and acts as a natural, onsite stormwater retention system, storing stormwater in its aggregate base after rain events and allowing for natural percolation. GEOPAVE pavements are designed to accept everyday traffic from cars, trucks and emergency vehicles.
