Cardno’s Aaron Hopkins has authored an article, “Subsurface Utility Engineering Benefits Trenchless Installation,” which has been published in the June 15, 2016, issue of Trenchless Technology magazine.

Although subsurface utility engineering (SUE) has predominantly applied during the engineering or design phases of projects, Aaron describes how it provides critical existing underground information as an effective means of reducing the risk of damages, claims, significant project delays, and more importantly, injuries or even death resulting from damaging an existing underground utility.

Using a recent project in downtown Tampa, Fla., as reference, Aaron focuses on the trenchless applications and how Cardno developed an approach specifically catered to the urban environment.

Aaron is a Subsurface Utility Engineering Project Manager, overseeing the day-to-day SUE operations throughout the west coast of Florida. His work experience also includes utility/roadway construction, water/wastewater treatment facilities, horizontal directional drilling, and other trenchless technologies.

Trenchless Technology is the leading publication serving the underground infrastructure market. You can read the article on Trenchless Technology’s website.
