Cristo Rey High School Partnership

More than 200 students from Cristo Rey high school in West Milwaukee attended “draft day” which pairs local businesses with students. The new preparatory school opened in 2015 and follows the work-study form of education where students attend classes and intern part time. Students work five full days a month at companies in the Milwaukee area, providing workplace skills and a portion of their educational costs.

Mortenson is one of 50 local employers participating in the program. Four students – Aislinn Estrada, Efrain Ramirez, Deisy Espana, and Bryan Ramirez – joined the Bucks Arena project team for the upcoming school year.

There are over 25 Cristo Rey schools around the country, with Milwaukee being its most recent addition to the network. Learn more about the school here.
